Tour Part I - my bure

Since students arrived this week, I've had a very different rhythm from day to day than I had during training the first week.

When I wake up, which seems to happen naturally here for me around 6am (unheard of for me! especially even though the sky doesn't really get light until around 7:30... except today I had to get up at 5:15am), I have a little time to grab some tea and take a look at the schedule for the day.

Here is the view from the door of my bure.
The ocean is visible on the horizon, though you can't quite make it out it in this photo.

I share my bure with 2 other staff members (Rachael the global communication coordinator and Murphy the photographer), plus a rotating cast of program leaders from time to time as people pass through the lodge from the trips in the highlands or outer islands.

Yes, I claimed the big bed.

My bure faces the south west, so the view of the sunset is better than the view of the sunrise.

Fun fact: this morning, I had to wake up at 5:30 and stumble around in the dark. When I turned on the bathroom light, this little lady greeted me from the sink.

Looks pretty similar to the fishing spiders we get in our basement, but still startling.
